RWT 2023

Hi to all our friends from all of us at RWT. We hope everyone is healthy and safe. We've maintained CDC standards here with masking, social distancing, handwashing and sanitation. We continue to follow CDC Guidelines in an effort to continue to keep ourselves and our guests safe here at RWT. With lots of great trips, events, and classes, it is never too early to plan at RWT. We invite all of you to join us at the 2023 Callie Rohr Memorial Canoe and Kayak Race and be part of the battle to find a cure for pediatric brain cancer on June 24, 2023. Be prepared to have a blast at the race and we have a little saying, "If you don't want to have fun then you better not come". We thank all the participants, volunteers, contributors and sponsors in making this event a great success.

In addition to, "The Callie" as the race is referred, we have trips and classes to fulfill your adventurous, outdoor spirit. Our northwoods campground is a great place to call home as you enjoy the adventures that Northern Wisconsin provides. We have enjoyed a life of wonderful adventure and designed our campground like what we would love. It has an atmosphere not unlike a National or State campground, but with great ammenities. Nestle yourself in the spectacular northwoods and enjoy the beautiful scenery, serenity and excitment the Northwoods provide!

RWT's Forty-Acre Woods, Conover, Wisconsin

The Forty-Acre woods offers winter fun with a groomed cross-country ski and snowshoe trail, that is a great hiking and moutain biking trail plus fabulous disc golf course when the snow melts. The trail is groomed year round and offers a great mix of easy to expert sections. To help in the grooming cost a $5.00 per person donation is requested. In the summer, we offer trips on the Headwaters of the Wisconsin River and many other great rivers in the area. We can outfit you with all your gear, including deluxe canoe and kayaks for your trip. We will take care of all your transportation needs, including, car spots at reasonable cost for those of you who have your own boats, We also, offer exciting guided inflatable kayak trips, a tubing trail on Portage Creek, gear sales in our new camp store, instruction,and RV and tent camping in our beautiful and quiet campground. We even offer seasonal sites for those who want to make RWT there place in the Northwoods. We are located in the heart of Vilas County, which has its own great cross-country ski, snowmobile, atv, ohm, hiking, and mountain bike trails. Vilas county has an incredible number of lakes, with many close by,provinding great fishing opportunities. Just 13 miles north of Eagle River,and a couple of miles off Hwy.45, RWT's Forty-Acre Woods is a great place to hang your hat and enjoy the pristine, safe and beautiful Northwoods. Forty-Acre Woods Luxury House - Pinecone Place, Conover, Wisconsin

We have a great northwoods house that is waiting to be enjoyed. It is divided into two units up and down connected by a sunroom over the outside stairs or can be rented as a whole house. The upper unit has three bedrooms, one and half baths, cathedral ceiling living room, dining room, gas fireplace, and complete kitchen. The downstairs unit has the same but just one bedroom, and no cathedral ceiling. The house has a knotty pine interior with log beams and banisters. We built this house to be very comfortable in the winter with lots of insulation, and cool in the summer with overhead ceiling fans. Available for rent by the month. Forty-Acre Woods Campground, Conover, Wisconsin

Campground 2023 Season May 20 - Oct 8 Reservations Open May 13

Enjoy State and National Park ambience with luxury facilities. After years of camping, we designed our campground to be everything we wanted in a great campground. It has spacious, large flat tent sites in a beautiful quiet scenic setting. We have water and electric RV sites, walk in, river and serenity tent sites, and a whole area "Blueberry Haven" sporting eleven spacious,and scenic tent sites that are off by themselves. Our campground has a fabulous showerhouse, dumpstation and a honey wagon service. We have a 20/30/50 amp full hook up area,with eight of the fifteen sites being pull thru's. Our E Section is upgrading to full hook-up with 30/50 services and 9 of the 10 upgraded sites are pull thru. Our tenting area, "Blueberry Haven", with large scenic and spacious sites and all have 15 amp service. Our campground is like no other with secluded, spread out tent sites away from our spacious RV sites. If you like a campground that is beautiful, quiet with great ambience and equally great tent and RV sites in a very scenic setting then this is the place for you! Paddling Instruction Weekends - RWT's Forty-Acre Woods
August 19 - 20

Learn from the best with the best equipment. No experience is necessary for our two full days of comprehensive canoe or kayak instruction. We require instruction for some of our river outings. Each weekend will be tailored to the skill level of group. Weekend includes: Canoe gear and two days of instruction.

Solo Canoe Class - Northern Wisconsin
September 9 & 10

This comprehensive canoe clinic will cover the more advanced strokes and maneuvers required in solo canoeing with each participant paddling a solo canoe provided by RWT. Clinic includes: Equipment and instruction. Pre-requisite: Class I

Northwoods Doubles Throwdown - RWT's Forty-Acre Woods
May 21

In 2017 we hosted our first Disc Golf Tournament here at RWT. The participants gave rave reviews of the course and asked to have a doubles tournament as well, so here it is. Proceeds from both our tournaments go to the Callie Rohr Foundation named for our daughter Callie who lost her life to pediatric brain cancer. The foundation funds research for pediatric brain cancer, currently our recipiant is a Ann and Robert H. Lurie Childrens Foundation Research Team directed by Dr. Amanda Saratsis. So come out, play the course, have a great time and help to make a difference. More information is available at our new Disc Golf tab.

Callie Rohr Memorial Canoe Race - RWT's Forty-Acre Woods, Conover, Wisconsin
June 24

This is the seventeenth running of our canoe race in the memory of our daughter, who died from brain cancer just days before her 10th birthday. The Callie Rohr Memorial Canoe and Kayak race has a place for everyone. The "Callie" is a fourteen mile and eight mile race with thirteen different race classes with trophies given to the winners. "Paddle for a Cure"-is a short race for non-racers, who want to help find a cure, on the first scenic and winding one and a half miles of the race course. Come paddle with media personalites, who battle for the titles "Fastest TV Station and Fastest DJ on the Water". Any group or individuals can also participate, making there own personal challanges, or just want to have fun paddling this fun and beautiful section of river. Fun was had by all last year. Please help us find a cure and participate in this very worthwhile event.

Northwoods Throwdown - RWT's Forty-Acre Woods
August 27

2017 started the Northwoods Throwdown and we had such wonderful response, we've made it an annual event and added a Doubles Throwdown in the Spring. We have an 18 hole course nestled on our trail system. During the course of the Throwdown we have CTP prizes, Ring of Fire, Ace Pot and if we have another tie, there will be a shoot off. All together with lunch and breaks, it makes for a wonderful day. Be sure to get all the details at our Disc Golf tab here on our website.

Inflatable Whitewater Kayak Trips - Come whitewater raft in our fun inflatable kayaks. Inflatable kayaks are safe little rafts that are more maneuverable and a blast to paddle. Even a novice paddler can soon be bouncing down some fun whitewater laughing all the way. This is a great way to see some of the Wild and Scenic Rivers of Northern Wisconsin and the U.P. of Michigan. We offer half and whole day trips on many of the great rivers close to RWT. The inflatables will also be available to paddle on other great trips that we offer. Half day and whole day trips $60-$130.00 p.p. depending on group size.

Canoe & Kayak Rentals - RWT offers unguided canoe and kayak trips from our Forty-Acre Woods on the beautiful Headwaters of the Wisconsin River. The headwaters is a great wilderness paddling stream. It travels through beautiful wild country and it is well suited for all paddlers. The river is never boring but it is never threatening either. With trips from an hour to several days the Headwaters of the Wisconsin offers great trips for everyone.

Car Spoting - We can help you spot your car at the end of your trip if you have your own boat. Please call for pricing and to get scheduled.

Expedition Outfitting - We can supply you with the best equipment for your wilderness outing (canoes, packs, food, waterproof bags, etc.). Call or write for our complete outfitting price sheet.

RWT Gear Shed - Come on in and see our new store - The Gear Shed. RWT offers quality gear for sale. Check our prices and trust our service. We know how important the proper equipment is for a successful wilderness outing. We're adding new items all the time as we get the new store completed. Don't see something you need, just ask, we'll be happy to help.

All RWT canoe trips include canoes and gear, group camping, food on river on some trips, equipment transportation, and guide. Transportation to destination is not included, but we can help people in arranging transportation if this is a problem. There is an added 5.5% tax on all trips in Wisconsin. Any special fees and duties that may occur are also not included and are the responsibility of the individual or group. All participants in RWT activities should be in good health and be able to participate in vigorous activity. Everyone is required to sign a Release and Assumption of Risk form and is responsible for any evacuation cost. Travel Insurance may be advised. Deposit is required at time of booking and is not refundable unless we cancel or change trip dates. Full payment is due two weeks prior to departure and is also not refundable unless we cancel or change trip dates. Prices and dates of trips subject to change without notice.
